Enjoy a guided driving tour of Newport’s two famous scenic routes: Bellevue Avenue and Ten Mile Ocean Drive. Visit the Festival of Lights at La Salette Shrine, featuring over 300,000 lights, an outdoor Manger and the International Creche Museum with more than 450 nativity sets from more than 50 countries.

Enjoy Christmas at the Marble House, built by Mr. William K. Vanderbilt as a birthday gift for his dynamic wife Alva, a leading hostess in Newport society who envisioned Marble House as her "temple to the arts" in America. Marble House hosts a Holiday mantelpiece decorating competition among regional garden clubs.
Check in to the Newport Harbor Hotel (2N), 49 America's Cup Avenue, Newport, RI, located in downtown Newport on the harbor. The hotel features Saltwater Restaurant and Bar, indoor pool and marina lawn and deck. You can conveniently walk to the shops, galleries, and restaurants along the harbor.
Dinner included in Newport, tentatively at the Atlantic Beach Resort.

After breakfast, depart with your local guide for a driving tour of Newport's two famous scenic routes: Bellevue Avenue lined with magnificent "summer cottages" built by Gilded Age leaders of industry and society, and Ten Mile Ocean Drive where you can ogle estates and enjoy un-paralleled ocean views! Experience Christmas at The Elms, a French-style chateau, that was the summer retreat of coal magnate Charles Berwind of Philadelphia, and contained every technological marvel of its time, as well as monumental Venetian wall paintings and great tapestries. The ballroom will be decorated and transformed into a Gilded Age streetscape, complete with sleighs, a topiary horse, trees and mannequins dressed in period costumes. Touring continues to the lovely town of Bristol. See the red, white & blue traffic line celebrating Bristol's oldest Independence Day Celebration in the United States! Drive through Colt State Park for sweeping views of Narragansett Bay.
Experience Christmas at Blithewold. Tour the 45-room mansion overlooking Narragansett Bay. Most rooms are still as they were in the early years of the 20th century and offer a glimpse of the gracious lifestyle of a bygone era. Each Christmas, the home is decorated in a different theme, incorporating holiday decorations, items from the family collections, live plants and floral arrangements.
Enjoy Tea at Blithwold including hot tea, and sweet & savory delicacies. After Tea arrive at The National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette, a spiritual refuge to thousands of people from all walks of life for over 60 years. The Shrine's Festival of Lights has grown into a spectacular display during the Christmas Season. Live concert with Father Pat the "Singing Priest." (tentative) Father Pat is known for his graceful tenor voice and charismatic concerts! Enjoy the Festival of Lights at La Salette Shrine, featuring over 300,000 lights, outdoor Manger and the International Creche Museum with more than 450 nativity sets from more than 50 countries. Visit the gift shop and cafeteria for a warming snack on your own. Illumination is 5 pm - 9 pm. Dinner is included en route back to the hotel.

Travel to The Breakers, the grandest Newport mansion. Built for Cornelius Vanderbilt II, the 70-room cottage was inspired by the grand palaces in Genoa and Turin. The Christmas decorations typically include a working garden scale model of the Vanderbilt family's New York Central Railroad traveling through a seasonal display.
Free time for holiday shopping and lunch on your own in downtown Newport.
